It was a moment of luxury but right here and now in half-term I’m bang in the reality of being a working mum. This week alongside the usual social media services we’re working on a new interiors showroom launch next week, SEO for some new product descriptions, supporting the launch of @brightondesignshow and @designbtn (news coming soon) 3 proposals oh and that little event I mentioned in my last post!

I’m taking Friday off to enjoy some time with the girls and celebrate teen no1 surviving the first week of braces. Hands up to all the mums out there juggling. How’s your half term going?

I’ve been quiet on insta over the last week but I’m back with some exciting news to share

I’m going to be hosting a new @decorcafenet hub in Kent. Following last year’s successful launch in Brighton I’m bringing the Decorcafe’s popular mix of bite size business training, in-store events and private home tours to new home loving businesses in Kent
.
I’m pleased to be hosting our launch event at the beautiful @neptunetonbridge store on 26th March where I’ll be announcing our exciting calendar of events for the summer season
.
Tickets are available now from the link in my bio. I’ve tagged a few of you I’d love to be there including my Kent based clients, Decorcafe members who live locally some amazing local interiors accounts I’ve discovered. Tickets are free but be quick, there’s limited availability and nearly all our Brighton tickets went in the first 48hrs

I get asked about this a lot - those Instagram posts where 1 image is part of a picture made up of 3, 6 or 12 posts and you can only see the whole picture when you look at the account. I have to say I’m not a fan of them
.
There’s lots of reasons why they’re not good to post but yesterday I found a spectacular example of just what a bad idea they can be
.
Whilst they look good as a whole 95% of people see your posts by scrolling through their feed one picture at a time. There’s no guarantee they’ll see them in the order you posted. So you could end up with a really random or even embarrassing picture promoting your business. Swipe to see the magic 😳 First is the whole picture but look what you’ll see when you’re scrolling through your feed🤦🏽‍♀️

✨✨New Instagram Features✨✨
Instagram announced a new feature last week and it’s a great one to use for tidying up your account and keeping engaged with your followers .
The new tool has added 2 categories under the ‘Following’ tab
.
⚡️ Least interacted with
⚡️Most shown in feed
.
Take a look and see the accounts which are most active in your feed. The least interacted with tab shows the accounts you’ve least interacted with in the last 90 days. A good way to discover inactive accounts to unfollow - some of mine hadn’t posted for 6 months or more!
.
The most shown in feed were obviously some of the bigger accounts I follow as Instagram usually prioritises the most popular posts to show in the feed. TBH it still brought up some accounts I haven’t seen in a while! Take a look and let me know what you think
.
Word of advice when unfollowing try and keep it to around 20 a day. If you unfollow too many at once Instagram may think you’re using an automated service and you could get blocked! .

Good Morning - it’s Sunday and we all know what that means... time for some dogs and interiors

As I mentioned I visited a few Neptune stores this week so who else to choose as my dog of the week but Shambles who is the resident interiors expert @neptunehove .
A great time to visit as there’s some bargains to be had as they get ready to launch the new summer collection... like the lovely rug Shambles is modelling with a whopping 30% off - good times
